10 June 2022

In light of the rail strikes announced for the week commencing 20th June 2022, exercises with planned face to face selection day activity due to begin in that week will now take place fully remotely for all candidates in those exercises. This is to ensure fairness to all candidates by maintaining consistency across those being interviewed on dates which are not directly affected by strike action. This will also provide certainty to candidates while they prepare themselves for their selection day.

Candidates involved in exercises affected will be contacted directly by the relevant selection exercise teams with details of the new arrangements. The exercises affected to date are:

  • 081 – Employment Judge (England and Wales)
  • 086 – s9(4) Deputy High Court Judge
  • 095 – Senior Circuit Judge, Designated Family Judge (West London).

No other selection activities, such as exercises launching and closing, candidate shortlisting, and other exercises with in-person selection days commencing after the week of the rail strike are affected.
