The Honourable Mr Justice Sheldon

Clive was born in London, the child of a Holocaust survivor from Poland. He attended a state school in North London and is the first member of his family to be a lawyer. He studied law at Cambridge University, and completed a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Pennsylvania before qualifying at the New York State Bar.

In 2011 he was appointed as King’s Counsel and in 2018 he was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge. He conducted the Independent Review into Child Sexual Abuse in Football: 1970-2005 for the Football Association, and the Report of the Armoured Cavalry Programme (Ajax) Lessons Learned Review for the Secretary of State for Defence.

Clive worked in New York as a commercial litigator and as a barrister in employment and public law. He served on the Attorney General’s ‘A’ Panel of Treasury Counsel for several years.

The Honourable Mr Justice Mould

Tim grew up near Stroud in the Cotswolds and attended independent school in Warwickshire before going on to read classics at Oxford. He was called to the Bar in 1987 and appointed as King’s Counsel in 2006. In 2018 he was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge.

Tim practised in planning, environmental and local government law, particularly in major transport schemes, promoting railway bills and other projects in Parliament and at public inquiry. He also specialised in valuation, rating and land compensation cases.

Between 1995 and 2006 Tim was on the Attorney General’s Panel and standing counsel to the Inland Revenue on rating and valuation between 1997 and 2006.

The Honourable Mr Justice Cusworth

Nicholas grew up in London where he attended independent day school. He studied Jurisprudence at Oxford before being called to the Bar in 1986.

Nicholas specialised in the law relating to financial remedy upon relationship breakdown, very often with an international element, but has significant experience in many other areas of Family Law. He also had an extensive practice as a Private Financial Dispute Resolution Tribunal judge, and as an Arbitrator.

In 2007 he was appointed as a Recorder, as King’s Counsel in 2009, and in 2011 a Deputy High Court Judge in the Family Division. Nicholas also served as chair and vice-chair for the Family Law Bar Association (FLBA) between 2010 and 2013.

The Honourable Ms Justice Henke

Ruth grew up in Wales and was the first member of her family to attend university, studying jurisprudence at Oxford. She was called to the Bar in 1987 and appointed as King’s Counsel in 2006. In 2018 she was appointed as a S9(4) Deputy High Court Judge.

Ruth specialises in the law relating to the protection of vulnerable people and children. She is author of the Welsh Materials in the Family Court Practice and the chapter on Welsh Family law in Butterworths family law. She is chair of the South East Wales Family Law Bar Association (FLBA), the silk representative on the Family Justice Council and chair of the Welsh Committee for the Five Jurisdictions conference.
