Appointment of Master of the Rolls and President of the King’s Bench Division

His Majesty King Charles III has been pleased to approve the appointment of Sir Colin Birss as the Master of the Rolls, and The Rt Hon Lord Justice Warby as the President of the King’s Bench Division.
Both appointments are made by His Majesty The King on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, following the recommendation of an independent selection panel chaired by Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, the Lady Chief Justice.
The other panel members were:
- Lord Sales, Deputy President of the Supreme Court
- Professor Clare McGlynn, Lay JAC Commissioner
- Ms Siwan Davies, Lay JAC Commissioner
- Mr Tom Cross KC, Professional JAC Commissioner.
