Appointment of Judicial Commissioner – Mrs Justice Morgan DBE
His Majesty The King has approved the appointment of The Honourable Mrs Justice Morgan DBE as a Judicial Commissioner of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) for 3 years commencing 1 October 2026.
JAC Commissioners are appointed, under Schedule 12(1) of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005, by His Majesty the King on the recommendation of the Lord Chancellor. The appointment of The Honourable Mrs Justice Morgan DBE was made in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Judicial Appointments Commission Regulations 2013.
The Honourable Mrs Justice Morgan DBE was called to the Bar, Gray’s Inn, in 1988 and took Silk in 2011. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2009, as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2019, and as a High Court Judge (Family Division) in 2022. In 2023 she was appointed as the Family Presiding Judge for Wales.
