Applications for Senior President of Tribunals

The Lord Chancellor has asked the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) to convene a selection panel to recommend a new Senior President of Tribunals as a successor to Sir Keith Lindblom.

The exercise launches on 12 March 2025, and anyone interested in making an application should contact the JAC’s Head of Senior Appointments, Lisa Grant, for further information on the eligibility and selection criteria as well as the documentation required to make an application. The exercise closes for applications on 7 April 2025.

Candidates are expected to be of highest intellectual ability and have directly relevant judicial experience. “Directly relevant experience” is seen as sitting as a judge in a higher court. Candidates are required to submit judgments as part of their application alongside a written plan.

Candidates considering applying for this post are asked to notify the panel secretary, Lisa Grant of their intent to apply with the contact details of up to two independent assessors by 16:00pm on 7 April 2025 (please see form below).

This competition is open to existing Court of Appeal Judges as well as successful candidates to be appointed from the current ongoing Court of Appeal exercise.
