JAC Business Plan 2025-26 published
The JAC has published its 2025/26 Business Plan, the second year of the wider JAC Business Strategy that was published in May 2024.
The JAC 2024-27 Business Strategy is centred around four key aims:
- ensure we are a centre of excellence in selection, applying best practice to fairly select talented individuals with the necessary skills and abilities across the entirety of judicial roles
- work with partners to attract well-evidenced applications from the widest range of high-calibre candidates, supporting the achievement of greater judicial diversity
- ensure the JAC is widely recognised as the trusted expert body on independent, merit-based and inclusive appointment to the judiciary
- develop people and tools to support the delivery of the Commission’s aims
The business plan was shaped by JAC commissioners and senior staff, reflecting on feedback from key stakeholders, with the aim of building on last year’s work and meeting the ambitious vision set out by the 2024-27 strategy.
Some key priorities in the business plan include the implementation of the revised Judicial Skills and Abilities Framework (JSAF), a review of our Equal Merit Provision (EMP),and the launch of our new redesigned website. It sets out what can be expected from the JAC, and how we plan to deliver a busy year of judicial appointments ahead.
