Helen Pitcher OBE’s term as Chair of the JAC is ending on 31 December 2025. Recruitment to find a new Chair has started.
Helen Pitcher OBE’s term at the Judicial Appointments Commission comes to an end on 31 December 2025. The JAC would like to thank Helen for her dedication and leadership since taking over as Chair in January 2023.
I have hugely enjoyed this key role and presiding over many key senior selection decisions. I will leave the Commission in an excellent position to fulfil its strategic plan and thank all Commissioners and staff for their dedication and support throughout an unprecedented time in the history of the JAC.

Work has begun to recruit a new Chair, who will continue to drive the JAC forward to deliver the priorities outlined in our Business Strategy and uphold our statutory duties.
