I grew up and went to school in North London, where my family settled after leaving Zambia in the 70s. Along with one of my siblings, I was the first in my family to enter higher education, studying law at Oxford University.

I was appointed as a salaried judge in December 2019 after spending 20 years as a solicitor. My career path into the legal profession did not follow the traditional route.

I grew up in suburban London and attended the local comprehensive school before studying law at university, I was the first in my family to go to university.

I grew up in the West Midlands and was the first person in my family to go to university. After secondary school I was not sure what I wanted to do but it had been suggested that a law degree would keep my options open.

I grew up in South London, went to the local grammar school, and was the first person in my family ever to go to university.  I qualified as a solicitor in the late 1980s and have spent most of my career in commercial dispute resolution.

I spent the first 12 years of my career in private practice in Camden Town, becoming a partner soon after qualification and building up one of the largest specialist housing teams at the time. 

I was diagnosed with a chronic arthritic condition when I was 7 years old. I spent a lot of time in hospital during those early years, my disease was very active, and my immune system seemed intent on taking my life.

I am a Chartered Financial Planner and Managing Partner of Bottriell Adams LLP, a boutique private client wealth management firm in Wimborne Minster I established in 2004.

My background is a portfolio career as GP partner and clinical assistant in Dermatology. I was appointed as a fee-paid medical member in 1996.

I am an employment solicitor and had always worked in this capacity since qualification. I was appointed as a fee-paid Employment Judge in London South in 2013.
