Using artificial intelligence

Breaching our policy on artificial intelligence (AI) is treated as an integrity issue, which may result in disqualification. Read this guidance carefully before you apply.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • following our guidance throughout the selection process
  • making sure all your evidence, statements and examples are accurate and honest

All examples you provide must come from your own experience. You must not use AI to invent, fabricate or embellish experience, roles, responsibilities, achievements or outcomes. You must not use AI to misrepresent your level of competence or expertise.

If we find evidence that you have breached this policy, we will treat it as an integrity issue. This could result in disqualification from this and future exercises, and referral to your professional regulatory body.

When you can use AI

You can use AI to help improve work you have already written. For example, you can use AI to:

  • improve the grammar,  clarity and structure of your examples
  • identify  themes or strengths in content you have already written
  • check a draft you have written for coherence and gaps
  • summarise long documents you have written yourself

You must still write your own examples. AI can help with how your writing reads, but it must not create content for you or overstate your experience.

When you cannot use AI

You must not use AI in any qualifying test, selection day or other live assessment. This includes using AI to:

  • draft, generate or refine answers to test questions
  • produce responses for situational judgement, critical analysis or scenario-based assessments
  • suggest solutions, explanations or interpretations of legal or factual questions
  • help you make decisions during a timed or supervised assessment or interview

Do not enter any selection material into an AI tool.

Our assessments are designed to test your reasoning, judgement and integrity. Using AI in these situations undermines that.
